SDPC sent along six teams to this event and the teams produced some really encouraging results.

The team came 2nd and Amy Drummond secured an individual 1st placing.

Well done to everyone who was in the teams and to Jo and Rachel for all their time and hard work.

There was a great team spirit on the day and everyone supported each other well. We were lucky with the weather but the going was tricky with all the rain the night before.

For many years SDPC has sent a team for The Pony Club Showjumping at Burghley, during the Burghley Horse Trials.

This year the team consisted of Amy Drummond, Jessica McIlwraith, Jessica Quinlan and Charley Baxter.

All the girls jumped well, especially Amy and Charley who produced clear rounds.The team finished on four faults. The same score last year gave us a 6th place, so we were unlucky not to be placed this year. There were five teams finishing on clear so well done girls , a really good result against stiff opposition.

We had five teams represent the club at the inter branch showjumping at Beccles on Saturday.

There were nine clubs taking part on the day, including SDPC and several of the clubs had two teams entered into each class, so the competition was extremely tough.

In total we had five teams participating, including some of our younger riders who were representing the club for the first time. It was a very successful day, the standard of riding was excellent and all five teams were placed.

They did an amazing job and finished on a score of four and were placed 4th.

They had a really great day and finished on a score of zero and came 2nd.

They did a great job and finished on a score of eight and came 6th.

They had a great day and finished on a score of twelve points and came 3rd.

Well done to the children who took part in the show-jumping competition at Milton on Tuesday. They were all a credit to the club.

Our smallest team ended the first round with four clears. They all had a valiant attempt in the jump off and ended up in the rossettes in eighth place.

Our second team ended their second round on a total of four faults, which put them into 3rd place. Cleo Mcgegor was placed 2nd individually and went on to win the 3ft individual class.

Charlie Baxter, Katie Webb, Katie Cameron and India Gibson were the first team from Soham Pony Club to go, and although they put in a very good performance they were just out of the placings.

Next came the 80cm Novice and representing us this time was Luke Quinlan, Eloise Stringer, Sophie Levin and Annabelle Molyneux. They were the only team to go clear in the 1st round and as they all jumped clear in the 2nd round they were the winners! Sophie, Eloise and Annabelle were all placed individually.

In the 90cm class we had two teams. The first team to jump was the Whitehall Wizards, Cleo McGregor, Sarah Fosse, Jess McIlwraith and Abi Scott. They all jumped well but were out of the placings. The Carrot Crunchers, Charlie Baxter, Tara McCabe, Lacey Dowse and Amy Stone jumped well to finish a very good 3rd, with Charlie winning the individual competition.
